Deep tissue therapy
is a strong massage technique that penetrates into our deeper
muscles and tissues, which lie underneath one or two layers of
superficial muscles. Long-term tension in these deeper muscles
is often the cause of our stiffness, restricted movement and many
aches and pains.
As the name implies, the
purpose of DTM (Deep Tissue Massage) is to release tension in
the deeper muscles of the body, which we are not able to de-stress by
ourselves, This method produces results beyond what can be
achieved by the typical relaxation, remedial or therapeutic massage.
Specifically, the method is
to apply a firm, penetrating pressure on the trouble spots, and to
maintain that pressure until the deeper muscles release their
tension.
The patient can dictate
the pace of the therapy according to what pressure level is
comfortable for him. We believe that the "no
pain, no gain" principle has limited applications, and our aim is for
patients to enjoy their treatments, as well as gaining the benefits,
including relief from pain.
Enjoy your session! --
