What is Osteopathy?

It is a traditional therapy based on deep tissue massage.  It can also include, when necessary, gentle manipulation of the joints and spine.  These manipulations are non-ballistic, thereby avoiding trauma to the body.

Osteopathy is particularly effective in healing long-term or chronic conditions.  The method restores normal pain-free functioning of body mechanics, and relieves muscular and spinal complaints.

Osteopathy emphasises the importance of posture, and we help patients re-train their own posture, exercise regimes and lifestyle factors.

The human body has a state of balance in which it functions at its optimum, giving us the feeling of physical and emotional well-being.  Osteopathy is an effective method for establishing and maintaining this important state of balance.
